Professional Licensing

In California, individuals pursuing professional licensure or certification are required to undergo a compulsory criminal background check, incorporating Live Scan as a component of the licensing procedure. This step is mandated by the state prior to license issuance. However, for applicants seeking licensure in other states, Live Scan is not admissible. Instead, submission of fingerprints via an FBI ink card, commonly referred to as a Hard Card Fingerprint or FBI Form FD-258, is necessary. Fulfilling this prerequisite is imperative before being granted licensure or certification in the respective state.
